5 New Burgers to Get on Your Radar

In a city that’s full of  burgers, keeping up-to-date on the latest and greatest seems just about as difficult as getting into Tim Ho Wan on opening week. Lucky for you, we’ve done the easy part and compiled a list of our favorite new burgers to hit the scene. We’ll leave the getting in part up to you!

Burger at Chumley’s. PC: @wagtouicz

After a decade, former speakeasy Chumley’s re-opened as a full-fledged restaurant, but you’ll still have to know-a-guy to find it (lucky for you, we’re your guys). Beautiful interiors aside, the 86’d Burger is why everyone’s running there, so make sure you get your hands on it ASAP! This double patty burger is stuffed with bone marrow and is topped with Chumley’s signature sauce and crispy shallots.

White Gold Butchers

This is an unconventional burger, but man is it good. April Bloomfield, master of nose-to-tail cooking, took a traditional gourmet burger, chopped it up into itty-bitty pieces, mixed it with melty cheese, and sandwiched the mixture between two perfectly toasted, buttery buns to serve up one of the ooziest, most food-porn worthy burger we’ve seen in a awhile. Solid Insta gold right there.

4 Charles Prime Rib

Shot with DxO ONE

We were so excited when word got out about 4 Charles Prime Rib in the West Village, a new restaurant by Brendan Sodikoff of Au Cheval, who happens to make the best burger in Chicago. This insanely delicious hunk of meat has made the national rankings for the best burger in the US and trust us, it totally lives up to the hype. We won’t give away anymore details…you’ll have to try this bad boy for yourself!

Union Square Café

Shot with DxO ONEUnion Square Café is a New York City institution for a reason and that reason is chef Danny Meyer’s classic USC burger. We all waited long enough for the restaurant’s reopening and we were happy to find that the burger was as great as we remembered it. This no frills burger is topped with Beecher’s Flagship Cheddar and bacon and is served on an excellent brioche bun.

img_4665When we heard Keith McNally was opening a new restaurant, we knew there would be a great burger involved. After all, we have him to thank for the Black Label Burger at Minetta Tavern. And, his new Whiskey Burger at Augustine doesn’t fall too short of perfection either. The burger is melt-in-your-mouth tender, juicy, and topped with Comté cheese, single malt scotch braised onions and served with a side of fries. A+ job on the fries, too.
