The secret to Harold’s fried chicken is that it’s made with cornish hen, rendering a uniquely juicy, tender experience when fried. The chicken is served with two sauces: one sweet and tangy and the other super spicy. We’d recommend switching between the two for the perfect balance.

2) Atoboy’s Fried Chicken: Atoboy’s fried chicken is a truly unique chicken dish that combines Korean and American cuisines in just the right ways. The chicken comes out lightly battered, creating a nice crunch with every bite. It’s then paired with a peanut butter-garlic sauce; a memorable combination that will surely leave you wanting more.

Make sure you come hungry when ordering their Monthly Bird, The Holiday Helper, loaded with pickles, tomato, bacon, and three cheese macaroni.

4) Eli’s Night Shift’s Fried Chicken Sandwich: This fried chicken sammy is worth the trip to the UES any day. Served on Eli’s homemade brioche bun this perfectly crisp chicken is topped with a creamy slaw, pickles and a homemade secret sauce.


5) Emmy Squared Spicy Chicken Sandwich: Make sure you have some extra napkins for this saucy chicken sandwich that has just the perfect kick. Two pieces of crispy fried chicken are smothered in Emmy’s special chili-pepper sambal sauce, making a flavorful introduction to reveal tender chicken underneath. The fried chicken is topped with salsa pico, pickles, radish, bok choy, and ranch and is served on Emmy’s signature a pretzel bun. Perfection.

6) Sweet Chick’s General Tso’s Fried Chicken with Bacon Cheddar Waffle: This dish fullsizerender-4pairs two New York City staples, General Tso’s chicken and fried chicken and waffles to create a winning combination. This particular waffle is baked with bits of bacon and cheddar, and is the most popular amongst Sweet Chick’s signature waffles. The soft texture of the waffle complements a crunchy General Tso’s chicken with a hot and spicy glaze. Though normally served with a rice and celery waffle, we think you’ll understand why we insist you try this switch-up. After all, there’s nothing quite like watching cheddar and bacon ooze out of a crunchy waffle.
